Frequently Asked Questions
What is Decide City?
This is an online platform of the City to facilitate public participation. If you are a citizen, you can sign up to add proposals, share ideas in the debates or make comments.
A collaborative platform
Decide City is a participation platform based on open source software, created using the Ruby on Rails web application framework and shared by the City Council of Barcelona, Spain, through the Decidim.org. Anyone can see how it is built, reuse it or improve it. (Check here the code on GitHub).
A community of citizens
Decide City is also a community of people who meet in person. It began with the Municipal Development Plan 2018 - 2021, with the intention of supporting the participation of citizens who want a better City.

The verification does not work?
You can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or come to the public meetings of each process that takes place in the Municipality of City.
What is the purpose of verifying my account?
To participate you need to create an account. Depending on the degree of verification you can do more or less. If you register with an email and do not give any more information, you can comment and debate proposals. If after registering you have done the basic verification, you can support the proposals. You can always participate in person at any of the public meetings for each participation process. The contributions made in person will be collected, published and accessible on the platform.
Do I need a mobile phone or internet access to participate?
No. All actions related to the proposals, both to create, support, vote or comment, you can do in person at any of the process discussions that scheduled in the city.
There are many similar proposals, can they be unified?
It is not always possible to unify similar proposals. Sometimes small differences between two similar proposals can make big differences when it comes to acting on them. That is why there are people who may want to support one and not others. The proposals are not unified even if the creators want to unite them. Once the proposals are receiving support, these also represent the people who support them and not just their authors.
I forgot the password or it does not work, what can I do?
